Bob Cumming is a Professor Emeritus in Epidemiology at the University of Sydney, based at the School of Public Health. He is also an Honorary Professor at the UNSW Ageing Asia Hub. Bob has mainly conducted epidemiological research into ageing and ageing-related diseases and was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2020 for his work. He has contributed to population-based studies of ageing in Iran, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar and the Philippines. In Mongolia he collaborated with the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences to conduct a survey of 1000 older people. Bob is a co-investigator on the ARC Discovery Project "Mongolian Medicine: different modes of multispecies knowledge transmission".
